After meeting at the dock we will reach Florence( 1 hour -20 minuts),  the first stop will be at Piazzale Michelangelo, from where you can enjoy a breathless panorama of the city while we will tell you about some of the churches, palaces and bridges you are seeing.  We will then drive downtown and visit the Academia Museum with the statue of David by Michelangelo (pre booking recommended) and/or the Uffizi Gallery with some of the greatest painting masterpieces. After visiting the museums you will have time for your favorite lunch and to explore the historical centre: Piazza del Duomo with S. Maria del Fiore Cathedral and the Baptistery, Piazza della Signoria and the Old Palace, the Old Bridge with its jewel and gold shops, Via Tornabuoni for exclusive shopping.(Pre booking recommended, service included).

Finally after visiting Piazza S. Croce and its famous church, we will head for the ship driving through some countryside. Other places of interest: The Synagogue, Pitti Palace and the Palatine Gallery, Medici Chapels. On the way back to Livorno  through the old Aurelia Way flanked with hundreds of “umbrella” pine trees and a striking view of the Alpi Apuane and the white marble quarries we reach Pisa. After meeting at the dock we will reach Pisa (30 min drive) through the old Aurelia Way flanked with hundreds of “umbrella” pine trees and a striking view of the Alpi Apuane and the white marble quarries. We will visit Piazza dei Miracoli & The Leaning Tower (opportunity to climb the Tower, takes 30 min (pre booking recommended). We will drive through Piazza dei Cavalieri where the famous Scuola Normale Superiore founded by Napoleon is located, and then we will go straight to Lucca. While approaching to Lucca we will have the opportunity to visit Villa Torrigiani dated back to 16th century, one of the most spectacular property in the whole area and its French-style garden (visit takes 30 min, entrance € 9.00).

Then we will reach the centre of Lucca. Lucca has a very rich history and is one of the most interesting Tuscan towns: born as a roman colony, during the 16th century has been completely surrounded by walls becoming a real fortressDuring the Napoleonic era Lucca was occupied by the French and became the Principality of Elisa (Napoleon sister). You will start the walking tour through the most important sites: the famous wall, the roman amphitheatre, San Michele Church, the Duomo, Piazza Napoleone, etc. We will then drive to Torre del Lago enjoying a beautiful panorama of the Massaciuccoli Lake and visiting the house where Giacomo Puccini lived and composed some of his most famous operas. Finally we will drive back to the ship.

Shore excursion    Livorno - Siena  - San Gimignanoxcurci 09 hours

After meeting at the dock we will drive towards Siena trough the expressway and some of the picturesque Tuscan countryside. We will stop at Montegufoni Castle for a quick visit and to enjoy a unique view overlooking the typical gentle hills with vineyards and olive groves. We will reach the centre of Siena through the impressive Roman Gate and start to explore this masterpiece of Medieval Art and Architecture: Piazza del Campo with its particular slope shape where the famous horse race “Il Palio” take place. The square is completely surrounded by beautiful palaces and dominated by the Torre del Mangia recently reopened to the public

The gothic Cathedral (Duomo) once considered the most important monument of Christianity with its treasures, and the emotion to walk trough the typical alleys and little squares sure to discover something interesting just behind the corner. We will then approach S.Gimignano through a dirt road from where you can admire a unique panorama of this “Medieval Manhattan” and take the best photographs of its towers. Your walking tour will start from S.Giovanni Gate and continue through the only main street with historical palaces, churches and typical little shops offering leather & pottery goods together with local products. Finally we will drive back to the ship.
